Shah Rukh Khan (born November 2, 1965) is an Indian actor and film producer who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. After appearing in the television series Fauji (1988) and Circus (1989), he made his feature film debut with the romantic drama Deewana (1992), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He subsequently achieved recognition playing antagonistic roles in the thrillers Baazigar (1993) and Darr (1993), earning his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor for the former. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Khan established himself in commercial Hindi cinema with leading roles in the romantic dramas Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), all of which earned him Filmfare Awards for Best Actor.
